I found these in the produce section at the local grocery store. It had a big sign that said, “DO NOT EAT!”
Know what they are?
The first person who can tell me gets one in the mail.

I’m thinking a pear or an avocado.

We call the hedge apples? I don’t know why they would be in a store.

Ohh they grow around here and I never knew the name of them. little bigger than a lime yet have a funky smell to them. We used to throw them at each other as kids. Now I am looking them up and finding nothing.

We called them Horse Apples growing up – they’re the fruit of the Bois d’arc tree.

I see I’ve missed the prize shipment, but what the hey. Linda and I know them as Osage oranges. We found them at a farmer’s market a couple of years ago. You put them in your shed or your basement, or wherever you’ve got spider crickets and such as them. Apparently the insects find them disgusting too, cuz our shed was cricket-free in short order. If you think they look gross when they’re fresh, check ’em out after they’ve had some time to rot in those dark corners. Mmm-wah! Fruit salad, anyone?
