Inappropriate laughter
February 1, 2008 | 2008 campaign
One of my daughters laughs at inappropriate times. Sometimes she wants to tease or be funny. But most of the time she doesn’t understand the situation, and she laughs inappropriately. I’m trying to teach her that’s wrong and give her other ideas of how to respond. I hope she figures it out while she’s still in preschool. Certainly before she decides to run for president.
Speaking of which, I’ve seen Hillary Clinton asked a few times (the latest was during the debate last night) about “controlling” her husband and what he says. And she laughs. Inappropriately. She doesn’t merely chuckle or even ha-ha laugh. She LAUGHS. HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA hold-your-stomach laughs. I don’t get it because it’s not funny. I don’t think the people asking the question think it’s funny either. Maybe she just doesn’t understand the situation?

It’s like some creepy horror movie. She shouldn’t laugh. Ever.
(I’m talking about Hillary, not your daughter.)

I don’t know, I think the thought of “controlling” Bill Clinton is pretty funny.

Yes, Hillary’s laughter is odd.

I agree with Sarah–while Hillary’s laughter is weird, it would make me laugh wildly if someone asked me about “controlling” MY husband, and he’s waaaaaaay less trouble than Slick Willie.

Speaking of misplaced laughter… didn’t y’all just love how McCain and Romney, sneered, hissed, and laughed at Ron Paul when he was giving his responses at the Ron Reagan Library Debate last week? Kind of reminded me of a couple of snot-nosed, immature grade schoolers.

Sounds like my 4-yr old son. He sees his little sister fall on the carpet and he laughs. I tell him it’s not funny and he pouts. Ugggh!
