It’s a girl!

And her name is Pearl.
Why Pearl? She’s all black except for a white spot right in the center of her chest. I joked that it looked like she was wearing a pearl on her neck.
I always said if I had a dog again, and it was a girl, I’d name her Lucy. I always wanted to walk in the door and say, “Lucy! I’m home!” But, well, this isn’t exactly my dog anymore. So I tried out names on the kids.
What about Lucy?
Nah.
How about Pepper?
Meh.
What do you think about Pearl?
Yeah! Pearl! Pearl! Pearl.
It stuck.
She was a hit at school today … the star of Show & Tell.

Gabe used to have a dog named Lucy.
It was short for Lucifer.
